Miller’s Textile Services First in Region to Earn
“Triple Crown” of Hygienically Clean Certifications

Wapakoneta, OH, (April 3, 2017) —Miller’s Textile Services of Wapakoneta, Ohio, has recently been awarded esteemed certifications in Hygienically Clean Food Safety and Hygienically Clean Food Service, as well as a renewal of their Hygienically Clean Healthcare designation. Miller’s is the first textile rental company in the Midwest and the second facility in the country to earn all three certifications.

“I am proud of our entire team of men and women here at Miller’s who have worked tirelessly to achieve these certifications,” said Bob Hager, President of Miller’s Textile Services. “This achievement is a testament to their sincere commitment to providing the highest quality products and services to our customers.”

These certifications are awarded by the Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) to those laundry companies that pass a rigorous battery of on-site inspections and microbial testing, indicating that their processes are producing Hygienically Clean linens and garments.

To maintain certification, laundry plants must pass quarterly testing including yeast and mold detection. This is to ensure that laundered product quality is consistently maintained if laundry conditions change (such as water quality, textile fabric composition and wash chemistry).

TRSA member companies specialize in providing, managing and delivering quality textile goods directly to facilities and workplaces ranging from small medical practices serving a few patients at a time to stadiums accommodating 100,000 spectators. The largest users of textile rental services are hospitality, healthcare, retail, manufacturing and automotive services.

“Congratulations to Miller’s on their certifications,” said Joseph Ricci, TRSA president and CEO. “This achievement proves their dedication to building their customers’ confidence that their laundry takes every step possible to prevent human illness.”

ABOUT HYGIENICALLY CLEAN
Hygienically Clean certification is the fastest growing and most recognized international standard for processing linens and garments. The certification demonstrates linen, uniform and facility services companies’ commitment to cleanliness through independent, third-party laundry plant inspection and quantified microbial testing. Inspection and re-inspection verify that items are maintained, washed, dried, ironed, packed, transported and delivered using best management practices (BMPs) to meet key disinfection criteria. In addition to scheduled and supplemental inspections, ongoing microbial testing quantifies cleanliness and validates the laundering process. This combination of process and outcome measures ensures linens and uniforms cleaned in certified facilities meet appropriate standards: Hygienically Clean Food Safety, Hygienically Clean Food Service, Hygienically Clean Healthcare and Hygienically Clean Hospitality. NEW BUILDING. EXPANDING SERVICE.

WAPAKONETA, OHIO (April 18, 2016)–We’re celebrating the March 16 opening of our newest sales and service facility in Defiance, Ohio. Located on Integrity Drive, this new facility replaces nearly 30 years in our center on Jackson Street. Situated on four acres, the new building is much larger—4,900 square feet with six shipping and receiving docks.

Housing four Account Managers, one route supervisor and one Service Director, the Defiance facility opens the door to a greater array of services. “This new, larger center expands our service and warehousing capacity. We can now host on-site training, health fairs, and customer meetings,” said Sam Bear, Defiance Service Director.

The professionals in the Defiance location average over 10 years with Miller’s. The center will service clients in a radius as far west as Fort Wayne, Indiana, north to Coldwater, Michigan, east to Toledo, Ohio, and south to Van Wert, Ohio. “In fact, our Route 10 representative, Dan Brown, makes deliveries to three different States every Wednesday morning, and two of our routes drive over 600 miles weekly!” Bear exclaimed. Delivery drivers average between 475 – 600 miles each week, according to Jon Van Cleave, Route Supervisor.

Van Cleave describes the new service center as “a refreshing change, and so far our employee reaction as been very positive! We look forward to being able to grow our business and continue to take excellent care of our customers.”

MILLER’S ADVANCES SAFETY IN WAPAKONETA PLANT WITH OHIO GRANTS

WAPAKONETA, OHIO (Sept. 24, 2014)– Miller’s Textile Service received two safety grants this year through the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation. The grants were used for purchasing four route truck lift gates and two industrial vacuums, which will substantially eliminate potential injuries and illnesses caused in the workplace. Applying for these grants is part of Miller’s overall safety initiative, led by Plant Manager Joe Ayers and Human Relations Director Vickie Roby.

The Bureau of Workers Compensation matches $3 to every $1 a company spends for a maximum of $40,000 every five years through a new policy established last year. The BWC changed the grant process to allow companies who had maxed out their funding in the past years to be eligible to participate in the program again, allowing Miller’s to first purchase the lift gates early in 2014 and more recently, the industrial vacuums. The vacuums will improve overall air quality and cleanliness in the plant facilities.

“Applying for these two grants through the Ohio BWC was an easy decision as we continue to work toward our goal to become ‘the best independent single plant textile rental company in the United States’, “said Vickie Roby, Human Relations Director at Miller’s. “By providing equipment that benefits our employees, we have experienced an increase in both productivity and performance.”
